Fire Force: The Blacksmith’s Dream | 1 x 15 – recap

In the last episode, the 8th and the 7th company became allies in the mission to find the corruption in the Fire Force. Yona and Arrow escape back to their lair where Shinra’s brother, Sho is waiting for them. They tell Sho about what happened in Asakusa and he decides that he needs to go with them to acquire Shinra because of his Adolla link.

Hibana brings on a science member for the 8th Viktor Licht as the lead scientist in the 8th company. He’s quirky, but I think we know him from early in the season at the Rookie Fire Soldier Games, plus he was in the first scene of the first episode discussing the infernals and working for the evangelist. I’m pretty sure this is the same man. However, Obi and the rest of the 8th are unaware and welcome him to work with the department.

The Blacksmith’s Dream

( We get a new opening sequence)

Viktor is a little obsessed with Shinra’s adolla burst. The audience knows why, but everyone else just thinks he’s odd. He has something to do with the conspiracy. Perhaps he is creating the bugs the Rekka used to turn humans into infernals.

Anyway, during his conversation with Obi, Hibana, and Hinawa the group determines they need an engineer as well. So Shinra, Iris, and Arthur go to recruit Vulcan, a skilled and creative engineer that has refused all Fire Force related work.

Vulcan or dirtbag take ur pick

Shinra and Arthur strike out with Vulcan but his unofficial apprentice, Yu, talks with them. He speaks very highly of Vulcan. We find out the Haijima blackballed Vulcan because he wouldn’t work for them. He wouldn’t work for them because he blames them for his father and grandfather’s transformation into infernals.

Dr. Giovanni from the 3rd comes to recruit him again while the 8th was there. Vulcan confronts Giovanni about cutting off his suppliers and declines joining the 3rd.

After Giovanni leaves, Vulcan shows them an invention he made that spells out his plan to save the animals and replenish the world. He wants to save the animals by creating a new energy source to heal the earth and bring back extinct animals.

Shinra’s adolla link tells him that Giovanni ordered a kill on Vulcan just as they are about to leave. The 8th stays despite Vulcan turning them down because Shinra know’s he’s in danger.
