Finally, the Crisis on Infinite Earth’s special continues on The CW after a month-long hiatus. Please feel free to catch up with the events of the crisis by clicking here (for part 1 and 2) and here (for part 3).
After Barry lost his mental battle with Ramsey in the last episode of The Flash, Cisco devised a plan to defeat Ramsey and save the city. He explains his idea to shoot Ramsey with radiation and stop his ability to infect the citizens of Central City because at this point he is creating Blood Brothers and Sisters.
In this episode of The Flash, we pick up with a very infected looking Ramsey fighting Ralph as they crash out of the window of Ralph’s office. The fight heats up with some verbal exchanges back and forth, and then Ralph realizes that Ramsey has implanted him with his blood. Bloodwork then retracts his blood and leaves Ralph laying on the ground seizing up.
After taking a week off, the CW’s flash returned to Tuesday night. Harrison ‘Nash’ Wells tells Iris, Barry, and a few other people about the Monitors hideout in the tunnels of the city. He calls the Monitor a cosmic imposter with delusions of grandeur who is trying to invoke fear. Nash’s goal is to expose the Monitor. He thinks this will also save Barry.
This week in Central City, Ramsey Rosso finally ascended into madness while trying to cure his terminal illness, HLH. The episode began with Ramsey sneaking into Central City General (the city hospital) and stealing 10 liters of blood. He believes he can rebuild his cellular structure with the new blood and Romero’s blood and create a cure.
In the previous episode, Barry traveled to the future in his mind with the help of Jay Garrick and saw billions of scenarios where Anti-Matter destroyed the earth. The only time the world was not destroyed was in the instance that Barry sacrificed himself.
To start this episode, Barry and Iris told Team Flash about the Monitor’s prediction and the time travel confirmation. However, instead of revealing that he has to die he just tells them that he disappears.
We catch back up with team flash moments after Barry and Iris viewed Nora’s goodbye message in the season 5 finale in the time chamber. Something glitches their system and fries their USB and her message along with it.
With the Flash, Super Girl, Arrow and DC Legends of Tomorrow in a shared universe, we are expecting newcomer Batwoman to become a mainstay in the DC CW universe or Arrow-verse. We first met Kate Kane/ Batwoman during the 3 part Elseworlds crossover in December 2018 as she aided our heroes with saving the universe.
Ruby Rose will return to her role and take over the vigilante gauntlet in Gotham City as Batwoman airing on the CW. The Arrow series is ending after a shortened season 8 this fall. it maybe a good idea for Batwoman to take over that time slot.
Perhaps Batwoman will join the crossover, Crisis on Infinite Earths, the conclusion of Elseworlds for the 2019 season. It’s possible that Kate Kane’s encounters with Arrow / Oliver Queen during the special will allow him to propel her into the forefront alongside Super Girl and The Flash in the Arrow-verse, figuratively passing on the mantel.
There has been no release date announced yet, but the CW did release a trailer earlier this week.
I’ll be covering the events in Gotham City just like I do in Central City when the time comes.
