THE ADDAMS FAMILY (trailer #2)

Rambo: Last Blood (2019) – trailer review

I’m getting ready for 90 minutes of blood, screaming, shooting, stabbing and booby-trapping. That’s what the entire trailer foreshadowed for the fifth installment of the Rambo Franchise.

First Blood is one of the greatest Sylvester Stallone movies ever created. And now, as the title suggests, we get to see how John Rambo’s story possibly comes to an end. Or this story won’t end and in a few years, we’ll get Rambo: Last Blood II.

Honorable mention to whoever chose ‘Old Town Road’ by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus as the trailer song. This remix is fitting since the story of Rambo: Last Blood takes place in Mexico.

Rambo: Last Blood comes out in September.

Terminator: Dark Fate (theory and trailer review)

With Terminator: Dark Fate coming out in November 2019, we get to retcon everything made after Judgement Day. This works because this is a series based on time travel and changing the past and future. Plus, Linda Hamilton is back as Sarah Connor!

It looks like Sarah Connor is going to be the guide for us this time around. We have two characters on the run. One is an augmented humanoid who can regenerate named Grace and the other is Dani Ramos (a damsel in distress or so it appears).

You can hear Grace ask Sarah Connor why she cares about Ramos and she responds, “Because I was her”. So maybe Ramos is pregnant or fated to affect the timeline in some way.

Here’s a question.

In Terminator Judgement Day, Sarah takes John Connor and the Terminator to see old friends who will help them flee to Mexico. Is Dani Ramos a relative of those friends? If she is, that could be another reason Sarah feels the need to save her.

Also, where is John?

I noticed Arnold Schwarzenegger (The Terminator) made a quick cameo in this teaser when Sarah’s group arrives at his cabin in the woods. Perhaps he is just a support character rather than the main Terminator this time around. He’s clearly not the same Terminator that saved John in Terminator 2: Judgment Day because we all remember the thumbs up scene. Please don’t make me cry.

Maybe Schwarzenegger is the Terminator that saved Sarah as a child. This was referenced in Terminator: Genisys.

Speaking of the Terminator, Gabriel Luna is playing the antagonist. His version of the terminator looks like it will allow him to clone himself in some way, as well as make knives and other sharp objects out of his body. That’s an interesting new take on the upgrades of a terminator this time around.

Take a look at the trailer below:

I’m always excited when a new Terminator movie is set for release. Yes, even the less stellar options in the franchise. I may not have been alive for the first Terminator release, and I’m certain I didn’t watch Terminator: Judgement Day until I was six. But, it is one of my favorite movies and the Terminator franchise is one of my favorites.

Toy Story 4 (trailer review)

For nostalgic purposes only I watched the new Toy Story 4 trailer and I was not disappointed. I’m kind of excited to see legendary characters from my childhood and meet some new ones.

Several moments stood out to me in this trailer. First, the energetic Duke Caboom! He is probably going to be the cheesiest character giving us Elvis, Johnny Bravo, and Evel Knievel all wrapped up in one. Plus, I am already on a Keanu Reeves high from John Wick Chapter 3 – Parabellum so that’s another reason.

Second, Woody is really standing out differently this time around. Instead of being a little jealous and considered Forky, he’s looking out for his new child and trying to get her favorite toy back, even if it is a spork with googly eyes and chenille stems on it.

Lastly, how hilarious are the plus dolls? The scene where they are brainstorming with Buzz Light Year is bound to be one of the best ones in the movie.

See for yourself.

Batman: Hush (trailer review)

IGN released an exclusive trailer for the upcoming animated film Batman: Hush a few hours ago. DC Comics tweeted that it is coming out this summer.

The trailer came off to me as explicit to me. The content definitely feels mature. We have sensual flirting between Batman and Cat Woman and Poison Ivy is controlling Superman. It’s absolutely sexy and I don’t recall any other animated film of Batman giving me those vibes.

Feel free to let me know if I’m wrong in the comment section.

We are introduced to Hush the main villain in the movie and it turns out he does not discriminate. He is kind of uncomfortably seductive the way he plays mind games. He will manipulate heroes, villains and vigilantes. For what? I guess we’ll find out this summer.

I’ve put the trailer below. Enjoy!

Batman: Hush releases August 13, 2019

SPIDER-MAN: Far From Home (trailer review)

Marvel Studios just released the new trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home. It was kind of them to put a spoiler warning, in the beginning, in case you haven’t seen it.

Looks like the film picks up right after the events of Avengers Endgame in a post-Iron Man /Tony Stark world. Peter like the rest of us, is still mourning the loss of Stark. And now Nick Fury is calling on Peter Parker to fill a void.

I originally thought Mysterio would present as a villain, but it looks like he starts off as a comrade first. I wonder how Mysterio will turn on Nick Fury and Spider-Man. Especially since it seems Parker is going to be going on stealth mission for his cause.

This phase of the MCU officially wraps up with this movie so, I’ll prepare my tissue box one more time. And, it also looks like between Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man:Far From Home we are going to be introduced to mutants and the multiverse, that’s cool.

Theater release on July 2, 2019.

Sonic (2019) trailer review

Jim Carrey should hold a special place in everyone’s heart! He single-handedly made me want to see the Sonic film and I was initially not interested.

When the first images of Sonic’s CGI were released I basically knew it was going to be all bad and I wrote a whole opinion piece based on this film not needing to be live action to thrive.
Opinion: Did Sonic the Hedgehog need a live action movie?

I think I under estimated Jim Carrey. But, I appreciate what he’s going to do with this film.

I will look past all of the terrible CGI and enjoy the cheeky acting because Carrey already stole the show.

By the way, can we talk about Coolio’s Gangsters Paradise playing over the trailer?

I liked it.

I honestly know it’s going to be cheeky, but I am ready for it.

Take a look at the trailer and tell me what you think.

Gemini Man (2019) – trailer review

I’m actually interested. I saw the partial trailer on Instagram and it cut off halfway through. My immediate thought was, “Okay, so is this like Looper”?

You might remember the Bruce Willis film about time travel with Joseph Gordon-Levitt playing the younger Bruce Willis character. It came out in 2012.

BUT THEN..

I watched the full trailer in complete silence, I realized Gemini Man is not Looper. Instead of being about time travel, it’s seems to be about clones and science!

I’m interested in seeing how the visual effects come out in the final version. I’m also intrigued to see Will Smith act against himself. I mean he did an amazing job acting against no one in I Am Legend so I have high hopes!

Child’s Play 2019 (trailer review)

Just when I thought I was over my childhood terrors of Charles Lee Ray, here comes a Child’s Play remake.

I just watched the trailer and it is safe to say I will be sleeping with the light on and my hands and feet will be under the covers for the foreseeable future.

The worst part about watching the new trailer, is that the Chucky doll is now connected to all the technology. Why can  he connect to smart technology?

Why the heck would you buy a doll like that?

But the thing that really creeped me out was Mark Hamills’ voice as Chucky.

It’s so creepy!

I’m going to have to torture myself this summer and go watch it just because I’m curious at how far this will go.

The Addams Family 2019 (trailer review)

I just watched the new trailer teaser for ‘The Addams Family’ (2019).

I have mixed feelings about this remake. The Addams Family has been around for a very long time. It started as an animated series in the 1960’s, became a live action television show in the 1970’s, went back to it’s cartoon roots in the 1990’s and had Fox Family did us all a favor when it release two new Addams Family moves in the late 90’s .

Those were great movies.

Now we have an animated movie being released in October of this year and I’m not sure I’m ready for another iteration of the Addams Family.

From the trailer, the characters seem true to themselves. No major differences for me to point out. For some reason I thought Gomez should be a bit more handsome. Morticia and Gomez Addams always have such a sensual relationship without it coming across as sexual. So, I do look forward to seeing Charlize Theron and Oscar Isaac’s chemistry in this film.

Also, there is a fun call back to IT in the trailer. I’ll let you see it for yourself.

A new generation is about to fall in love with the quirk of the Addams Family. So maybe we can just sit back and mindlessly enjoy this one.

Joker (trailer review)

What did I just watch?

I thought I knew the Joker after watching the Batman: The Killing Joke a few years ago. But after watching all two minutes and thirty seconds of the Joker trailer, I’m stumped.

I’m both disturbed and delighted at this fresh take on the Joker written and directed by Todd Phillips. Especially after DC’s Suicide Squad from a few years ago, no offense.

Joaquin Phoenix, at least from the trailer, is really giving me Heath Ledger vibes from his rendition in The Dark Knight. In my opinion, The Dark Knight is the best movie of the Christopher Nolan series. And, even though this movie is set in 1981, I wouldn’t be surprised if this fresh portrayal of the Joker has some resemblance to the one Heath Ledger played as well.

Moments that stood out to me in this trailer include the scenes where the Jokers body looks contorted. And also, when the Joker gets beat up. Why does he keep getting bullied?

The Joker comes out in October 2019. I’ve linked the trailer below for your viewing.

Is this movie going to make me feel uncomfortable?

The trailer already has. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.

What are your immediate feelings after watching the trailer?
